And it wasn’t through a single dramatic protocol or some trendy “wellness overhaul,” but through a series of deeply personal, sometimes uncomfortable, but always intentional choices. Choices that genuinely challenged the way I was taught to eat, to cope, to relate to my body, to hold my emotions, and to move through the world as a woman.
I didn’t opt out of mainstream norms to be contrarian or to seem “different.” Truthfully, I still get embarrassed by how “extreme” some people think I am. But the reality is that in today’s world, you sometimes have to be a little (what others view at least to be) extreme just to return to normal. We live in a time marked by pollution, disconnection, burnout, overstimulation, and chronic unwellness. Of course the “normal” path wasn’t working for me - look at where it leads the majority: exhausted, unhealthy, and unhappy. So I realized I’d rather be labeled extreme than follow a path that doesn’t honor my body or my life.
And when I stopped forcing myself into frameworks built for the masses and started listening to what my body and intuition were asking for, I finally started to feel alive and well.
I originally shared these thoughts on Instagram, but I realized they deserved more depth. So here are some of the shifts I’ve made - some small, some life-altering - that brought me back to my body, my clarity, my faith, and my health. Not rules - just the lived experience of a woman trying to live in alignment
