Let's Get Personal Shall We? 😏
we're getting into it babe - fav meals, clothing must haves, current supplements and skincare routine and so much more
Well, I’ve gotten quite a few personal questions coming into the ‘gram lately
“what’s happening with your skin? Did you figure it out?”
“where do you get your clothes from?”
“Are you and your boyfriend talking about family planning?”
While I’m in the instagram world for my Roots to Leaves business, lately we’ve been sharing more personal content in hopes it helps inspire you all
and with that, means I’ve also been getting waaaayyyy more personal inquiries coming in
so let me start off by saying:
We are all unique: what works for me might not work for you, and that’s so okay! Context is everything
I share to connect, not to prescribe. Whether it’s about my skin routine, food choices, or future plans — I share from a place of openness, not to give unsolicited advice. If something resonates with you, that’s beautiful. But I always recommend tuning into your body, your needs, and your goals. If you’re looking for more individualized support, that’s where our 1:1 work comes in.
I hold parts of my life sacred: even though I’m open here, not everything is for public consumption — and that’s intentional. Some things are still in process, some things are just for me and my partner, and some are still unfolding behind the scenes. I promise to always share from a grounded place when and if it feels right.
so with that out of the way….
let’s get a lil more intimate…
starting with:
Are You Trying to Conceive? Would you Freeze Your Eggs? 🐣
Nope to both—but as with most things, it’s highly personal.
I’m not currently trying to get pregnant, but I do hope to be a mama sometime soon 🤍 Because of that, I already think about how I can care for my body in a way that supports a future pregnancy.
A big part of why I take care of myself the way I do is threefold:
So I can live a long, healthy, free life to the fullest
When the time comes, I hopefully have a smoother pregnancy experience
So I can walk my talk and inspire my future family to care for their bodies too
At this point in my life (29 yo), I personally wouldn’t choose to freeze my eggs.
I’ve had my AMH tested, I’m healthy, I’m cycling regularly—there’s no current indication that I need to take that step. That said, I’ve also noticed how much fear-mongering surrounds the egg-freezing conversation. While this route absolutely makes sense for some women, I’ve also seen many pushed into it prematurely, without fully informed guidance or real necessity.
Why Don’t You Eat Meat? 🥩
A whole bunch of reasons.
But honestly, it’s a bit of an internal dilemma because lately I’ve been craving it.
like a lot
That being said, I abstain from eating meat for predominately ethical reasons
At the end of the day, I have a deep respect for all life. Big and small. I don’t kill bugs in my home. I cried when my building used an exterminator for a mouse situation. I have a hardddd time with leather and animal furs.
That being said, I also recognize that humans have evolved by being omnivores. We were built to eat both plants and animals.
It is for that reason that I brought in fish and eggs a few years ago, and it has helped me feel stronger and better in my body.
That being said, I do my best to always source from a high quality, ethical supplier. I won’t prioritize my craving over the respect of another being.
That’s my take, full stop. I don’t know where your eggs came from? I’m not having it. Your fish was raised in a farm with antibiotics and pesticides and little space to swim? I’ll go for the vegetarian option, thank you.
Maybe one day I’ll eat meat, but for now, I haven’t found a way to do so that feels aligned to me.
Do You Keep Your Routine While Traveling? ✈️
Erm — not “perfectly”
I jusssttt came back from a trip to Disney World and then Miami and honestly, it was a lot on my body (hence, why I think I’m sick 3 days back)
With that, I’m also big on not having a “black and white” approach to vacations, weekends, and overall life
So I do keep a certain level of normalcy regardless of where I am because it is what allows me to feel my best. This includes:
Waking up around ~7 am daily (yes on weekends and on vacay)
Getting sunlight on my skin
Moving my body (went to a few workouts classes in Miami, and kept up my steps)
Eating whole foods whenever possible
but did I also eat later than typical? yes.
did I completely jack up my nervous system on roller coaster? 100p
and do I look back and think “hm you prob would have felt better with a little less sugar” for sure
but alas, life isn’t static and you learn day by day.
What’s most important is that you find those 2-3 things that make YOU feel YOUR best so that you can take them with you wherever you go
Do You Have Regular Menstrual Cycles?
yerp - like clockwork
I ovulated around day 18/19⏰
Bleed around day 30-32
1 day of some mild bloating
1/2 day of some mild cramps
repeat 🔂
this was after months and months of tracking, tweaking, and learning my bodies language
How Much Caffeine Do You Drink?
On average, somewhere between 60-180 mg x day
One matcha (when prepared at home 1 tsp) = 60 mg of caffeine
and I’ll typically have 2 x day 🤷🏼♀️ that’s what works best for me atm
What Are Your Current Supplements?
Right now, I’m a little off my game but typically taking:
Cod Liver Oil - for retinol levels and omega-3s for skinhealth
Zinc - for acne and in general supporting levels (since I don’t meat)
Magnesium - sleep/digestion/hormone rxns
and that’s kinda it for the time being.
I do use some herbal remedies - lemon balm tea for the nervous system, maca when I feel I need it, etc.
and I’m going to be starting a D3+K2 since my vitamin D levels were a bit low, but generally speaking I’m symptom free so supplements are minimal
Current Skincare Routine?
If you recall, I dealt with a pretty bad skin outbreak across my forehead back in December/Jan
And look at where we’re at!!!
please excuse the least flattering photos - the girlies who track their skin get it haha
Here’s what is currently in my line up:
